Ministry Update

To overcome is to "Gain Superiority" " to win" or " to Conquer". To be an Overcomer is to be a Winner or a conqueror. Whether that be winning the battle against drugs and alcohol or conquering addiction of any kind.

Overcomers is a Program designed to transform an individual with any type of addiction, into an Overcomer by teaching you how to regain control of your life . Overcomers goes past teaching you how to stay sober, it is meant to teach you how to Live!

Michael and Margaret Lee have learned a thing or two about being an Overcomer. Mike has survived the anguish of the Vietnam War, 2 broken marriages, and the grasp of alcoholism. Margaret also battled alcoholism and in addition overcame depression. The two of them have been through enough to have called it quits long ago, and would have been destroyed by their addictions.

God had another plan.

Mike will tell you God, miraculously brought he and Margaret together to complete not only the work begun in each of their lives but in the lives of so many others. "God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams." Their experience allows them to meet those they minister to on a unique and personal level. Their energy is contagious and their ministry is bountiful.

Mike & Margaret have been married 23 years, have been ministering together since 1992, and were licensed in 2005. They are now directors in the Overcomers program and facilitate support groups in prisons and in locations throughout the free world. Mike and Margaret are retired and serve full time in the ministry through Standing on the Rock Ministries. Mike has two sons and three grandchildren. Mike and Margaret are an anointed couple and God has used them mightily over the past two decades.

Together they volunteer with WVIW in Overcomers, Marriage Seminars, and also teach classes at our Transitional house. In 2008 the Lee's were WVIW's Volunteers of the year. They are an indelible addition to our family and we are honored to call them friends.

Marriage Seminar - Telford Unit Feb 20-22

We just concluded a three day in-prison “Marriage Seminar” at the Telford Prison in New Boston, Texas. There were twenty-seven inmate couples and eleven volunteer couples. The warden, staff, and chaplain were all very cooperative and really glad we were there. Several marriages were saved and many others strengthened and encouraged.

One of the wives said that their marriage was over, but they changed their minds because of this weekend. Several prisoners and several wives made decisions for Christ. That makes it all worth while.

A dear wife had a lot of problems getting from Amarillo to the seminar, which is near Wichita Falls. One of her problems was that the tires on her car were dangerously bad. She came anyway. At the Saturday night afterglow she asked us to pray she would make it the almost 500 miles home. The other wives instantly rallied together and raised the money to buy her four new tires with some spending money left over. What a joy to see these ladies who are in such need, become givers themselves.
