WVIW Prison Crusade

Out on the plains of West Texas is a small town called Colorado City. A former oil boom town, Colorado City stands today with dozens of abandoned buildings and deserted streets. All around the town stands thousands of huge electricity generating windmills. It is a scene right out of the movies.

On the West side of town stands probably the best opportunity for employment for the residents of the area; two Texas prisons--"80" John Wallace and the Ware Unit. These two units were the focus of a three day crusade conducted by Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness.

We were assisted by The Church in the Wind from Midland, The Christian Motorcycle Association of Andrews, Freedom in Jesus Prison Ministry from Lubbock. Powerful sermons were brought by Terry Ohlmann, Ray Baker, Don Castleberry, Willie Burton, Mike Pesina, and Johnny Moffitt.

There was a variety of great Christian music. Willie and Hester Burton, Ray and Pamila Baker, Bobby and Jeanie Baker, Betty Moffitt, the prison worship worship teams, and a special treat--christian RAP by Kyle and Jeremy, provided exciting and powerful praise and worship.

Former prisoners and several former chemically addicted volunteers shared their testimonies. About 20 bikers rode their motorcycles into the prisons on Saturday and the prisoners were allowed to spend some time looking at the bikes and talking to the bikers. The volunteers ate their meals with the inmates and visited them in their dorms. Dozens of inmates accepted Christ during the weekend. I was very blessed just to be there.

Our next crusade will be October 29-31. Pray about joining WVIW for this great event. You will be blessed. Please watch this blog and our web site, www.wviw.com, for details.
