Once Again …

It always amazes me to see how God marry's just the right team with those in need of care.  Once again He did exactly this last weekend at the Worldwide Voice In The Wilderness Marriage Retreat for TDCJ Staff.

The WVIW Team had the privilege of hosting 15 married couples at an East Texas retreat center.  We spent three days pouring out our hearts and lives to care for these couples living and working in such a stressful environment.

The studies have clearly stated that prison employees carry one of the greatest stress levels of all professions.  They typically experience higher levels of suicide, drug use and divorce.  Our team shared testimonies of overcoming each of these issues and more through the power of Jesus Christ.

One man stated it this way, "I know how to be a man.  I don't know how to be a husband."

Ephesians 5 gives us a model of wives honoring their husbands and husbands laying down their lives for their wives.  This truth hit home with each spouse.  On Saturday evening, every couple committed to follow this pattern.  We were all blessed and encouraged.

Once again God showed up.  Once again he brought the right team together.  Once again lives were changed and marriages were saved.
